Edinburgh is a students´ shopping paradise. This beautiful city has a lot to offer for every taste!
Go shopping in Edinburgh on the Royal Mile, for shops that stock goods made in Scotland, and as Scotland is famous for it's knitwear, students and their friends will find specialist shopping for the likes of Scottish cashmere sweaters, and the finest of Scottish lambs wool, offered by any shop in the country. There are opportunities to shop for either antiques, Scottish CDs, tapes and records, gifts made in Scotland, Scottish bagpipes, kilts and tartan woolen products all made in Scotland. A great inexpensive gift from Scotland is Scottish shortbread which you will see in shops all over Edinburgh. Luxury or budget priced can be found all over town.
Be careful not to spend all your money in these notorious shopping places!
PARKS
There are a lot of parks where lots and lots of (international) students go to to relax and to enjoy the natural environment. They are also a very good way to read, whether it is in your study book or not!
First, you have "mountain" park that sits right in the middle of town. Holyrood Park includes hill walks up the Craigs and to Arthur's Seat, where the views over the Firth of Forth, the City and the Borders are absolutely fabulous.
